PCP, Inc. calls for release of arrested journalists

The Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines, Inc.  (PCP, Inc.) condemns the arrest and detention of five media practitioners covering the violent dispersal at the picket of striking NutriAsia workers on Monday afternoon, July 30.

The government must stop NutriAsia and police’s campaign of intimidation against the journalists. We demand the immediate release of our colleagues, including a UP journalism student who is completing his internship for the AlterMidya Network and another UP campus journalist. We believe that their continued detention is purely harassment and illegal.
