Sharing this visual communication studies final project at the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) by Oded LevRan.

In this educational short film presenting the concept of Peace Journalism, a mixed technique of stop-motion and macro photography, Mr. Levran succesfully conveys how the press and news to which we are exposed every day, create in our mind an image of the world surrounding us.

Norwegian Professor Johan Galtung, the principal founder of the discipline of peace and conflict studies, claims that our common daily news should be classified as War Journalism.

This kind of journalism tends to represent conflicts as an endless war, and by using text, editing and photography causes a negative impact on world opinion and the news we consume.

Galtung's new recipe of Peace Journalism offers a different perspective for the press.

This video presents the main principles of Peace Journalism using hummus, which is a staple dish for both Israelis and Palestinians, as an analogy to reality.
