The Photojournalists Center of the Philippines (PCP), an organization established in 1997 by noted Filipino photojournalists working in various local and international newspapers and publications, is now accepting participants to the 12th Professional Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Workshop to be held on 22 -26 November 2017 in Sagada, Mountain Province.

We’re looking for passionate, emerging photographers from different schools, newspapers, agencies or companies who want to hone their skills, widen their perspectives, collaborate and plan their visual storytelling. The number of participants will be limited to 30.

This intensive workshop aims to raise the participants’ level of understanding of documentary photography and photojournalism trends and to enhance artistic and ethical practice of the profession.

Instructors and facilitators include some of the top country’s photojournalists, visual storytellers and educators. The workshop has produced alumni who have made a career in photojournalism. Several participants went on to study the Diploma in Photojournalism course at the Ateneo’s Asian Center for Journalism. Other past participants went on to work in newspapers or NGOs. Majority of the workshop participants went back to their jobs armed with a better understanding of how photography and photojournalism can contribute to their places of work.

The workshop will be conducted in partnership with PAGCOR, CANON Philippines,, Philippine Press Institute, SN Aboitiz, Picture Perfect-Manila Bulletin, YKL Color, Inc., Peace and Conflict Journalism Network and UCA News.


Subsidized workshop fee is P10,000 inclusive of food, modest accommodation, workshop materials, complementary PCP limited edition workshop t-shirt and a certificate of completion.

Transportation to Sagada and back is not covered by the workshop fee.
